If a person makes a first request for VAD to a medical practitioner with a conscientious objection, the practitioner must immediately inform the person that they refuse the request. All medical practitioners have to provide approved information to a person who makes a first request for VAD.

After a permit has been issued to the coordinating medical practitioner the person may access VAD.
